Every year, Inuka Fragrances hosts one of the most anticipated celebrations on its corporate calendar, recognising and rewarding entrepreneurs from across Africa for their outstanding achievements. Hosted at the Sandton Convention Centre, the event welcomed over 2,500 guests for an evening of entertainment, recognition and celebration.
For an event of this scale, every detail matters. Inuka Fragrances appointed ZooM Photography & Video Production to provide complete photographic coverage of the awards evening from start to finish.
The brief included capturing the venue before guests arrived, the décor and table styling, cocktail reception, guest arrivals, networking, the official Inuka staff photograph, award presentations, entertainment, food service and the celebrations that continued well into the evening.
With thousands of guests attending, the client wanted every winner recognised, every important moment documented and the overall atmosphere of the evening preserved through professional imagery. They also required a selection of edited photographs before the end of the event so their marketing team could begin sharing content on social media immediately.
Our Solution:
Preparation began well before the first guest arrived.
Working closely with the Inuka events team, ZooM obtained the event running order in advance, allowing our photographers to understand every stage of the evening and prepare a detailed coverage plan.
General Manager Chantal Robertson and experienced event photographer Will arrived on-site ahead of schedule to familiarise themselves with the venue, identify key shooting positions and set up professional lighting for the arrivals area. This early preparation ensured the team was ready to capture guests from the moment they entered the venue.
Throughout the evening, responsibilities were divided strategically to maximise coverage. While one photographer focused on guest arrivals, networking and candid interactions, the other concentrated on stage presentations, award winners, entertainment and the overall atmosphere inside the venue. This coordinated approach ensured that no important moments were missed despite the size and pace of the event.
Particular attention was given to photographing the venue before guests entered, capturing the carefully designed décor, table settings, floral arrangements and lighting that reflected the premium nature of the occasion. Throughout the evening, the photographers documented genuine moments of celebration, emotional award presentations, live performances and the excitement shared by guests from across the continent.
As images were captured, they were reviewed and professionally edited, allowing a selection of high-quality photographs to be delivered to the client before the evening concluded. This enabled Inuka’s marketing team to publish professional content while the event was still taking place.
